The Farnsworth Art Museum and Wyeth Center celebrates Maine's influence on American art. With three facets to its programming, the museum offers a nationally recognized permanent collection of eighteenth through twenty-first century art currently installed as Maine In America, artwork by three generations of the Wyeth family and a focus on contemporary Maine art, highlighting the works of living Maine artists.
The museum's exhibition schedule is designed to balance shows with broad popular appeal with those more specialized exhibitions that spotlight the strengths in the museum's collection, feature the work of emerging or established Maine artists, or provide a context for permanent holdings.
