Adult Class
all day event, Olson House

Maine Media Workshops at the Olson House

For the week of this workshop, Maine Media Workshop students will have access twice a day to the interior of the Olson House in both morning and afternoon light, and may photograph the exterior of the property while the building is open to the public. This is a rare opportunity for students to use this location as the subject, as a studio and as the backdrop for an intensive week of work. This is a workshop that challenges how participants work, think and see. Students examine an idea, make preliminary photographs and craft a unique portfolio of work. Utilizing inspiration from the work of Andrew Wyeth and other artists who have worked in this location, each participant explores personal creativity through landscape, portrait, architecture, still life and abstract assignments. The purpose is for each student to create an individual portfolio of photographs, incorporating personal vision and responses to this location. Students work with 35mm, 120mm, or 4x5 black & white film, color slides or digitally, and should be familiar with camera and film requirements.

For more information, or to register please contact Maine Media Workshops at www.theworkshops.com or call 1-800-963-8739.
