Join the Farnsworth Art Museum for our annual Fall Family Festival on Saturday, October 19, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the museum sculpture garden. There will be free-style pumpkin carving, facepainting, crafts, live music by The Rusty Hinges, and refreshments provided by Home Kitchen Café. Families will be able to have their pictures taken with life-size cut outs of the Wizard of Oz characters and will be able to watch It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown showing in the museum auditorium. A parade will take place on Main Street, departing from the sculpture garden at 5:30 p.m. Families are invited to participate in the parade by wearing costumes and masks. Some masks will be made available thanks to Shoe String Theatre, who will be teaching an after school workshop the week leading up to the festival & parade.

On the first Friday of each month, from June through October, the Farnsworth Art Museum will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. as part of First Fridays at the Farnsworth proudly sponsored by The First.

New for 2013, the museum will be accessible on First Fridays through the Main Street doors leading directly into the galleries

First Fridays at the Farnsworth is part of the Arts in Rockland First Fridays, during which all 21 member-galleries of Arts in Rockland stage an Arts Walk from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Farnsworth Art Museum in alliance with the Lincoln Center Institute presents a free public performance of Everyman Repertory Theatre's Three Chekhov Vaudevilles.  as part of the 2013 Lincoln Center Institute International Educator Workshops at the Farnsworth.
 
Join us for this After-Event for and continue the discussion about Rockland Shorts and the world of films. The Collective event will feature live music by Bill Barnes and Spike Hyssong, tasty treats, a cash bar and an artistic environment.
 

Join us for the opening ceremony of Stories of the Land and It's People.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, December 11 and 12, at 3:30 p.m., please join us for a screening of afterschool films featuring holiday classics A Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.
Popcorn and apple juice boxes will be provided.
Suggested for children ages 4-9. Limit of 60 each show. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required and may be made by calling 596-6457 ext. 143.
