Award-winning poet Kathleen Ellis and participants in her annual poetry writing workshop invite the public to a reading in the museum's auditorium, which will be the culmination of the group's week-long poetry workshop. Guest poet Kristen Lindquist will also be featured.
During the workshop, participants wrote in response to works on view in the museum such as photography by Paul Caponigro, Wyeth's drawings for Christina's World, and sculpture by Jesse Salisbury & Kazumi Hoshino.
Presenting poets include: Carol Bachofner, Elizabeth Berkenbile, Audrey Friedman, Lenora Goldman, Ellen Goldsmith, Eileen Hugo, Judy Kaber, Dita Ondek, Gayle Portnow, Wendy Satin Rapaport, Marge Roberts, Hadassa Wisch, and others.
Poet Kathleen Ellis is the author of five poetry collections and will read from her most recent collection, Narrow River to the North. She teaches literature and creative writing at the University of Maine, Orono, and her work has been widely published in literary magazines and anthologies.
