Chief Curator Michael K. Komanecky, organizer of the museum's Alex Katz: New Works exhibition, will talk with Katz about his recent work and his more than fifty-year relationship with Maine, which began with Katz's attendance at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. Katz has spent summers at his Lincolnville, Maine home and studio since 1954, where much of the work in the show was created or inspired. Katz, the winner of the Farnsworth’s Maine in America Award for 2010, has enjoyed an increasingly prominent position in the international contemporary art world. The audience will have an opportunity to ask questions as well.
