What colors do you see in the sky? How many shades of green are in a meadow? Is the ocean gray, blue or turquoise? These are some of the questions you will answer in this class as you design and hook a beautiful landscape using wool material, yarn or whatever fiber you like!
Materials include a Belgian linen backing, hand dyed wool material and colorful yarn to help get you started on your project. Students should bring their own rug hook, hooking frame and any hooking materials they wish to incorporate into their landscape mat, including wool, yarn, silk, etc. Students are encouraged to think outside the box! Rug hooking experience is required for this class.
Instructor Gabrielle Wicklow designed and taught needle art for over twenty years before discovering rug hooking. She is a member of the National Guild of Pearl McGown Hookcrafters, the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild, and the Association of Traditional Hooking Artists (ATHA).
