Lectures and Films

LECTURES are scheduled throughout the year on topics relating to current exhibitions and artists in the museum's permanent collection. Both curators and scholars directly involved with the exhibitions as well as outside sources are scheduled for these adult-learning opportunities.

GALLERY TALKS usually take place on Wednesday evenings during the summer months. Farnsworth curators or guest lecturers take visitors on tours of the exhibitions and give an informal overview of the artwork and artist. Gallery talks are generally free with admission.

FILMS relating to exhibitions or artists are shown in the museum's auditorium and are free with museum admission.

The Maine in America Audio Guide is geared toward adults who wish to learn more about the permanent collection. It includes the voices of the executive director, curators and artists such as Jamie Wyeth who share their knowledge and insight about the collection with the visitor. Free of charge for museum members and small fee for non-members.
