Mural Arts Exchange and Artists’ Talk

Dates:
August 02, 2017
Times:
Wednesday, August 2, 6 p.m.
Location:
Farnsworth auditorium

This summer, the Farnsworth will begin its second major mural arts project in downtown Rockland, thanks to a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The new mural will be located on School Street, on the south facing wall of The Grasshopper Shop—our collaborating wall-host. It will be created by local artist Alexis Iammarino, Canadian mural artist Melissa Luk, along with local teens and community volunteers. Two days prior to the mural’s “unveiling” on Friday, August 4th, Luk will present a slideshow of her work, and will be joined by Tessa O’Brien and Will Sears of the Portland Mural Initiative to hear about their mural projects in the greater Portland area. A conversation amongst the artists and Q&A with the audience will follow.

Free of charge. Seating first come, first served.
