Educators are invited to explore art together, to express their ideas and creativity, and consider the connections between the arts and the rest of the curriculum in a day-long workshop focused on the museum’s exhibition, Elegantly Attired: Victorian Apparel and Accessories Found in Coastal Maine. Exploring clothing and accessories including day and evening attire, nightgowns, undergarments, hats and shoes, fans, and jewelry dating from 1850 to 1900, this workshop will feature a gallery tour with the exhibit curator, a talk by an expert in fashion design, and opportunities for participating in activities, discussion and reflection to help integrate this exhibit into classroom practice. CEUs available.
