Will Barnet Lecture Series Inaugural Talk The Armory Show at 100: Modernism and Revolution

This summer the Farnsworth will launch a new lecture series honoring the artist Will Barnet, whose contribution to American art and the teaching of art in America has been extraordinary.  Marilyn S. Kushner, Curator and Head, Department of Prints, Photographs and Architectural Collections, New York Historical Society (N-YHS),  will deliver an illustrated talk on the large and well-received exhibition “The Armory Show at 100: Modernism and Revolution.”  Dr. Kushner co-curated the recent exhibition (2013-14) by the same name at the N-YHS.
Dr. Kushner holds a Ph.D.in art history from Northwestern University. Previously she worked at the Whitney Museum of American Art as a Research Assistant, the Montclair Art Museum where she was Curator of Collections, and the Brooklyn Museum where she was Chair of the Department of Prints, Drawings and Photographs.  Dr. Kushner has been at N-YHS since 2006.
Cost: $5 members; $12 nonmember. No advance reservations. Tickets available day-of at the main admission desk starting at 10 a.m. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for open seating.
