Andrew Wyeth: A Talk by David Rockwell

On Sunday May 24th in conjunction with the museum's Andrew Wyeth Tribute Weekend, David Rockwell will speak at the Olson House at 2PM. David is Andrew Wyeth’s nephew and the son of Dudley Rockwell. He has spent his summers in Cushing as a neighbor to the Olsons and has foud memories of summers spent in Maine with his uncle Andy and other members of the Wyeth family.
 
Rockwell is currently on the faculty of Suffield Academy in Connecticut. At Suffield he is the chair of the History Department and the Leadership Department. He has taught classes in American History, American Studies, and Native American History. He is also the Director of the Suffield Academy Outdoor Leadership School. He has received the SWAN Award, the Richter Award and the Elisha Andrews Awards for Excellence in Teaching. Along with Ruth Aiken and his aunt Betsy Wyeth, Rockwell helped to found the Cushing Historical Society in 1969.
