Join the Farnsworth Art Museum for our annual Fall Family Festival on Saturday, October 17, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the museum sculpture garden. There will be free-style pumpkin carving, facepainting, crafts, and live music. A parade will take place on Main Street, departing from the sculpture garden at 5:30 p.m. Families are invited to participate in the parade by wearing costumes and masks. Some masks will be made available thanks to Shoe String Theatre, who will be teaching a week-long free workshop at the Gamble Center.

Information regarding the Mask and Puppet Workshop may be found here.

The museum’s traditional holiday family festival attracts upwards of 1,200 children and adults to a myriad of activities and events taking place throughout the museum campus. The three-hour events will feature the following stations at which participating children may have their Share the Wonder passports stamped:
  • A live performance in the auditorium
  • Live holiday music
  • Cookie decorating
  • Carriage rides around the campus
  • The Share the Wonder train display at the Wyeth Center.

Join us for a free community event for the opening of the exhibition  Picturing Maine: Photographs from the Farnsworth.

The event will feature a photo booth, live music and other fun activities, and is free to the public. During this event, we have made available five "selfie" stations. Tag your selfie on Instagram at all five locations with #picturingme for a prize!

This event is part of the museum's First Fridays at the Farnsworth sponsored by The First.
