Join us for the opening ceremony of Stories of the Land and It's People.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, December 11 and 12, at 3:30 p.m., please join us for a screening of afterschool films featuring holiday classics A Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer.
Popcorn and apple juice boxes will be provided.
Suggested for children ages 4-9. Limit of 60 each show. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required and may be made by calling 596-6457 ext. 143.
 
Join us for a performance of Suomalaiset Jouset Finnish Strings in the museum library as part of the Share the Wonder holiday celebration.

Join us for a gingerbread house decorating workshop at the Gamble Education Center, on the corner of Union and Grace Streets. There will be two sessions:
  • 9 a.m.
  • 10:30 a.m.

Join us as the Harborside Harmony Singers perform in the museum library as part of the Share the Wonder Celebration. Harborside Harmony is a women's barbershop group based in Rockland, Maine. They sing songs across the last century in four-part harmony.

On Friday, July 12, 2013, the Farnsworth will host its 8th annual Summer Gala, Reflecting Forward, in celebration of our 65th year. The event will begin at 5 p.m. at The Strand Theatre across Main Street from the museum. It will then continue in the museum itself, wtih guests entering through our Main Street doors, opened especially for the occasion. Our creative team has been diligently at work and the event is shaping up to be spectacular, featuring a fantasy setting with a brilliant culinary experience.

The museum’s traditional holiday family festival will feature passport stations; Breakers Jazz performing holiday classics in the library; a puppet show in the auditorium; cookie decorating as well as a special hands -on craft activity in the Gamble Center, carriage rides around the campus, and the Share the Wonder train display at the Wyeth Center. This program is free to the public as well as free museum admission for all.

Presented by Bay Chamber Concerts and the Farnsworth Art Museum, in partnership with the University of Southern Maine School of Music, Music at Noon is a new series of four intimate lunchtime concerts, to take place on the second Wednesday of the month, November through February. These diverse, firty-minute performances are the perfect way to spend your lunch hour. Surrounded by art and musci, enjoy a smiple, tasty lunch in the Farnsworth's library and prepare to be transported far from the stresses and strains of your day.
