Choose a one-day or two-day workshop experience where you’ll immerse yourself in the fundamentals of landscape painting! Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, this event is for you. You’ll have the freedom to work with the medium of your choice, but note that only those who are familiar with the use of oil paint should go that route. All participants will have the admission to the museum included for Wednesday, August 9th, to be further inspired!

During the workshop, you’ll observe and discuss the drawing and painting principles found in the Summer exhibition featuring paintings by Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth. You’ll start by selecting one work to study, drawing it with graphite pencils in your sketchbook, and practicing composition, tonal values, and rendering of form. Throughout the process, you’ll receive guidance from the talented Barbara Thomas.

For this workshop, Barbara recommends using gouache or watercolor. Don’t worry about supplies – a list and resources will be provided upon registration. Get ready to dive into the world of landscape painting with like-minded individuals and a skilled instructor. It’s going to be an unforgettable experience!
