February 1, 2022 @ 3:30 pm 5:30 pm EST

Erica Qualey, A Walk on Monhegan

Four Tuesdays, January 11, 18, 25, and February 1 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm ET Online via Zoom.

Time to dig out your paintbrushes and get those creative juices flowing! Join me for a 4-week virtual watercolor workshop perfect for beginners and those with some experience who want to fine-tune their technique. We will be covering the basics! Watercolor is a fun and beautiful medium to use and with the understanding of some basic skills can produce rich and illuminating paintings.  In this class, we will dig deep into some of watercolor’s core techniques to learn the “ins and outs” of how to use it successfully. My hope is for everyone to gain confidence and joy in their paintings through what we learn in this class.

Erica Qualey lives in mid-coast Maine with her husband and two daughters. She is a landscape painter that works primarily in watercolor and watercolor batik. Leaving her hometown in northern Maine, Erica earned a BFA from Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. She worked as a graphic designer for several years along with teaching design, drawing, and Adobe programs at a small college in New Hampshire. She has since focused on her personal art, exhibiting throughout New England and is represented in private collections around the United States and Canada. She is a member of the New England Watercolor Society and American Watercolor Society and has been published in the 19th edition of Splash, a yearly publication of 125 watercolor paintings from around the world. She currently teaches workshops at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland and River Arts in Damariscotta, and has had the privilege of teaching at other art associations such as Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine. Erica also enjoys working with kids, sometimes working as a visiting artist in schools and running programs through Skidompha Public Library in Damariscotta.
