Coyote and the Boy Ben marionette show
June 27, 2020 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Mother Coyote searches for her little pup, who has run off to play with a butterfly and a boy called Ben who found himself in the forest after joyfully following a bunny….and the magic that happened! This puppet show is about the wonderful caregiving relationships in our lives and in the lives of the wild ones who share our planet with us.
Wildlife biologist and Coyote and the Boy Ben writer Geri Vistein was inspired by the oral traditions passed down by our Native Peoples, regarding Coyote’s benevolence to them. The story came alive when Maine artist Melissa Glendinning created all the marionettes and stage for it, and Maine composer and musician Elizabeth Starr wrote the music. Starr is joined by Scott Ciampa (violin) and Lisa Harmon (flute) in this performance, and together they will take your imaginations to a very special place.
The marionette show will be followed by a brief art activity. This family-friendly event is intended for children ages 4 to 10.
