Click here for the August 23rd class.

Join us for this interactive gallery experience! We’ll start with a facilitated discussion on storytelling through art. Using two examples of Louise Nevelson’s works, artist and educator Jude Valentine will lead a Visual Thinking Strategies discussion, followed with prompts and pointers to further develop your own drawing and perceiving abilities. Using paper and pencil, you will have time to create a drawing based on the works and your imagination. You do not have to be artistic—only an art lover! No drawing experience is necessary to enjoy this hands-on class!

There will be time at the end to share our drawings and discoveries.

Important to note:

Please bring the following materials with you to the museum: a clipboard or chipboard (smooth cardboard) 9 x 12 inches with bull clips to hold paper in place; several sheets of 8.5 x 11 copy paper; regular yellow pencils with erasers (bring multiple pre-sharpened). Optional: Crayola Washable Colored Pencils (must be exactly this brand)

Cost: $40; $35 for members; open to all ages. Museum admission is included.
