Exiles and Outcasts: Music by VoXX
January 31 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
VoXX: Voice of Twenty, a midcoast chamber choir that sings unaccompanied choral music from the 15th to 21st centuries, will perform the music of “Exiles and Outcasts.” The program includes music by composers Hindemith, Gesualdo, Victoria, and Monteverdi. Music Director Matt Smith said, “We wanted to tell some interesting and tragic stories about composers across the past four hundred years. More importantly, we wanted to leverage the power of music to reflect on the feelings of exile that many people still face around the world.”
During an optional pre-concert talk that begins at 6:30 pm, VoXX members will use live singing to demonstrate some key elements of the music being performed in the concert.
This event is sold out.
