Field Sketching with Sherrie York: August 2020
August 12, 2020 @ 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Monday, August 10 and Wednesday, August 12 from 1 – 3 pm on Zoom

A second round of Field Sketching! We’ll get into more techniques and inquiry. Field sketching is a valuable tool for gardeners, journalers, artists, scientists—anyone who wants to know more about the world around them. And in our fast-paced, phone-camera-clicking, social-media-sharing world, a handwritten and illustrated journal can help us to slow down, reflect, and experience the world in a more personal and intimate way.
Bio Sherrie York: Observation is the core of instructor Sherrie York’s work, whether she is making a watercolor sketch of tidbits collected on a neighborhood hike or carving a complex linocut block of pinecones and leaf litter. A self-taught printmaker and compulsive wanderer of landscapes, Sherrie always has a sketchbook or journal close at hand, frequently one that she herself made. Her work has been presented in national and international exhibitions and is represented in corporate and museum collections across the United States. See examples of her work at sherrieyork.com.
Cost: $72, and $60 for Farnsworth members
This workshop takes place on Zoom.
