Giorgio de Chirico and the Fickleness of Inspiration
February 6, 2020 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Talk by Sam Cady
Giorgio de Chirico’s early metaphysical paintings are among artist Sam Cady’s favorite works in all of art history. He worked from revelations or inspirations of insight into ideas and feelings. But those revelations often contradicted each other, creating confusions and conflicts within his body of work. Cady will discuss these confusions and conflicts and talk about why he thinks the early metaphysical ones were brilliant beyond compare.
