Graphite drawing of 12 shells in a 3x4 grid pattern
Whitney River, Moonshells

Four Tuesdays, March 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 1 to 3 pm. Online via zoom.

Join artist Whitney River to gain control and fluency with graphite through close observation. This class is intended for both the beginning student and for the intermediate student who wants to continue to develop technical and observational skills. Students will gain confidence in drawing through a combination of fun exercises, demonstrations, teacher feedback, and extended still lives.

Whitney River graduated from Yale University in 1995. Since then she has shown extensively throughout New England, and her drawings and paintings are represented in many private and corporate collections. She is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her in Maine, both in the woods and by the ocean. She uses oil on canvas and graphite on paper to render found natural objects with great detail and precision.
