Join printmaker Sherrie York in this one-day relief-printing workshop to learn a versatile technique that can be applied to both fine art and craft projects. In this introductory workshop we will take inspiration from the changing season to create a block that can be used to print holiday cards, gift tags, an art piece, or anything else you can imagine. We will experiment with printing on different papers during class, but your finished block can be reused to print on wood, fabric, or other materials as well. Materials will be provided to each student in the workshop.
Self-taught printmaker Sherrie York has found her inspiration with the natural world. She has taught many classes at Farnsworth Art Museum, and as an Artist-in-Residence with Acadia National Park, National Audobon Society, and Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Her linocuts have been celebrated in national and international exhibitions such as through the Society of Animal Artists.
Price: $164; $144 for Farnsworth members (cost includes all materials provided)
