Keeping Kids Creative: A Family Workshop with Bridget Matros
September 28, 2019 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Adults enjoy a crash course in how to support and nurture their child’s budding creative development. You’ll gather tips and tricks any caregiver can apply to support any child’s capacity for problem solving, flexibility, and divergent thinking. Then we’ll reconvene with the kids to work side by side on an art project using our new skills to keep it positive without judging or limiting the kids’ creativity! Childcare provided for kids aged 5+ during the first half hour “crash course.”
Bridget Matros graduated from Oberlin College having studied social psychology and education reform before running Boston Children’s Museum’s art programs for 11 years. Dubbed a “rising arts leader,” she has been published in “20 Under 40: Reinventing the Arts & Arts Education in the 21st Century.” She now leads programs at Waterfall Arts, teaches art and music at Cornerspring Montessori School, and has residencies in Brunswick and Bangor Public Schools.
