Kids Illustration Workshop

July 15, 2019 @ 1:30 pm 3:00 pm

Children’s book author/illustrator Annette LeBlanc Cate will hold a workshop on Monday, July 15, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Rockland Public Library, 80 Union Street. Participants will take a look at some of Cate’s work as well as favorite picture books and discuss what makes art a compelling part of storytelling. Children will then create a finished piece of art, exploring the steps a professional illustrator takes in the process, including sketching, reference, storyboarding, and editing.

This free workshop is recommended for children ages 7 to 12.

This program is a collaboration between the Farnsworth Art Museum and the Rockland Public Library.

Annette LeBlanc Cate grew up in the Boston area and is the illustrator of two books, The Magic Rabbit and Look Up! Birdwatching in Your Own Backyard, both published by Candlewick Press. She is also the former art director for the Peabody award- winning animated series “Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist,” as well as a long time contributor to Appleseeds magazine.

This program is Free. Space is limited; reserve your spot by calling the library at 594-0310.
