The Farnsworth invites everyone to the opening celebration of two incredible exhibitions, featuring the works of two great American artists:
Rare works return to the city that inspired them in Edward Hopper and Andrew Wyeth: Rockland, Maine. The remarkable story of Christina’s lesser-known brother is told in Alvaro’s World: Andrew Wyeth and the Olson House. The Farnsworth is the only U.S. venue for the works included in this last exhibition, and the collection is unlikely to travel outside of Japan again.
The evening will include a Welcome from the Farnsworth Director and a flute performance to honor the Wyeths by Narumi Murakami at 4:25 p.m. Enjoy pizza from Uproot Pie Company during the Member Reception!
4-5 p.m. Member Reception: Beginning at the Wyeth Center on Union and Grace Street.
5-7 p.m. Community Celebration: Throughout the museum.
