Music @ Noon—Meneses and Galbraith
January 15, 2020 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

A rare collaboration between two Grammy nominated soloists, Antônio Meneses, cellist of the legendary Beaux Arts Trio and Paul Galbraith, one of the foremost classical guitarists of our time. Described by San Francisco Classical Voice as “Musically compelling . . . a highly virtuosic and engaging performance that drew audience raves,” the duo’s program includes a new arrangement of Schubert‘s “Arpeggione” Sonata, Brazilian composer Radamés Gnattali’s (1906-1988) Sonata for Guitar and Cello and Five Places from an Imaginary Brazil written for the duo by the celebrated young Brazilian composer André Mehmari.
Presented in partnership with Bay Chamber Concerts, our lunchtime concerts offer a midday break in the relaxed atmosphere of library in downtown Rockland. This hour-long performance includes freshly-prepared soup provided by Atlantic Baking Co. plus free admission to the museum following the performance.
