$375
Monday – Friday, July 3 – 7
In this week-long workshop come and explore a variety of classic and contemporary techniques in oil, tempera, or egg-oil emulsion painting. Egg tempera is a luminous painting medium with great potential for present-day artists as well as those interested in experiencing firsthand the painting methods of old masters. Combining historical Russian and Renaissance painting traditions with a contemporary approach, Scherer and Ouporov will co-teach the preparation of true gesso wood panels, the mixing of paints from dry pigments and egg yolk, egg-oil emulsion, under painting, glazing, gilding, embellishments, and more. Artists may work in one or a variety of these painting methods.
