Start with Art: An Early Childhood Arts Program

In Start with Art, young children and their caregivers are invited to explore works of art in the museum and a related hands-on art activity. In each session, we will visit a work of art in the galleries, share a related storybook, and engage in a sensory and process-oriented art activity. Families are free to explore the museum’s galleries after.
These sessions will be led by artist and educator Alix Martin, who encourages children to approach the world with a curious spirit.
Location: Enter through the museum’s main lobby, off the Museum Street parking lot. The group will meet in the museum auditorium.
First Session FREE: Friday, May 26; Spring Series: Fridays, June 2 to 23, 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
Suggested donation: $10 per class; or $30 for the series (includes museum admission).
