Summer Preview

Summer is upon us! Help us usher in the season with this exciting kickoff event. Preview our popular summer exhibitions with Farnsworth Chief Curator Jaime DeSimone and guests, including Gretchen Faulkner of the Hudson Museum and Amanda Burden of the Brandywine Art Museum, as well as our own curator Jane Bianco. 

This virtual program will highlight events and activities this season in Maine and give you a taste of the summer magic to come. The event is free to Patrons and their guests.

Jaime DeSimone serves as the Chief Curator at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, Maine, since summer of 2022. Prior to this role, she held curatorial positions at several esteemed institutions, including the Portland Museum of Art in Maine (2018-2022), the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville (2014-2018), and the Addison Gallery of American Art (2005-2012).

Jaime DeSimone has curated over 40 exhibitions, including Jeremy Frey: Woven (forthcoming 2024), Emilie Stark-Menneg: Thread of Her Scent (2024), Flying Woman: The Paintings of Katherine Bradford (2022), and North Atlantic Triennial (2022), among others. In 2019, she was the recipient of the Curatorial Research Fellowship from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. DeSimone was a scholar in the Fulbright Arctic Initiative III (2021-2023) in partnership with the University of Tromsø, Norway.
