Visual Storytelling on the Moon with Dorothy Royle
October 17, 2019 @ 3:45 pm – 5:15 pm

Visual Storytelling on the Moon is an illustration workshop open to all abilities and ages. We’ll talk about what we love and are inspired by in picture books, and where ideas can come from, and then create a mixed-media picture book spread with a story in mind and based on a very wide-open moon theme. We’ll make sure we have time to share our creations with each other and see what stories they reveal.
Dorothy Royle is a visual artist based in Burnham, Maine. She writes and illustrates under the name Lucky Platt, and she is currently working on her first picture book, What Big Beautiful Ears You Have, to be published in 2020 by Page Street Kids. When she is not drawing, Dorothy works as a program manager for Maine Crafts Association. Visit her website at http://luckyplatt.com.
This free program is another amazing collaboration between Rockland Public Library and the Farnsworth Art Museum. Space is limited so reservations are necessary. Call the library at 207-594-0310 to secure your spot.
