James Wyeth, Islander, 1975, Oil on canvas, 34 x 44 3/8 inches, Bequest of Betsy J. Wyeth, 2021

Upon Betsy Wyeth’s passing in 2020, the Farnsworth Art Museum received from her bequest twenty-seven works by three generations of Wyeth family artists: six by N.C., two by Andrew, and nineteen by Jamie. Together, they greatly enriched the museum’s already strong holdings of their works, and at the same time demonstrate Betsy Wyeth’s passion for collecting. Farnsworth Chief Curator Michael K. Komanecky will talk with Jamie Wyeth about his mother’s collecting, and his impressions of the works she left to the Farnsworth.

This program is sponsored by The Cornelia Cogswell Rossi Foundation

Cost: $25; $10 for Farnsworth members
