Our annual Wyeth Day lecture brings Jamie Wyeth (born 1946) to The Strand to discuss his current exhibition Unsettled, and his honest exploration of intriguing, often disconcerting imagery highlighted through this Summer exhibition. Frequently countered and even hidden by Wyeth’s fuller body of work—particularly his well-known coastal views and farmscapes—the darker and more troubling imagery is constant throughout his oeuvre. Whether he is introducing curious characters or surveying strange landscapes, Wyeth is at home with uneasy subjects and a master of the unsettled mood.

Join us for an illuminating afternoon with Jamie Wyeth in conversation with Jaime DeSimone, Chief Curator, on what makes this work so powerful, and his artistic processes. After the talk, we invite you to join us across the street at the museum to see the exhibition and celebrate Wyeth Day!

Cost: $30; $20 for members; registration for the event includes free admission to the museum.
