Recurring Event Event Series: Youth Summer Art Camp!

Youth Summer Art Camp!

July 26 @ 9:00 am 12:30 pm

Monday-Thursday, July 24-27, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

The Farnsworth summer camp experience offers artists ages 7-12 years an opportunity to work with artist Jen Peppe. Studio workshops will also include a Farnsworth gallery tour to inspire art making. Explore the art of Shibori Indigo dyeing for example, inspired by this Summer’s Alvaro’s World exhibition, on loan from a private collection in Japan. This summer at the Farnsworth we invite you to create and explore new art mediums and become a deeper observer of the natural world and the social environment around you!

Jennifer Peppe’s adventures as an art educator began in 1996. She launched her teaching career from a busy art room within a colorful, urban, suburban school district. Through the decades, she expanded her skill sets and cultural experiences via study, traveling, and teaching abroad. Years of work with creative learners of all ages and abilities have strengthened her commitment to sharing art with others. She has since followed her love of art and nature and landed in midcoast Maine.

Whitney River graduated from Yale University in 1995. Since then she has shown her work extensively throughout New England, and her drawings and paintings are represented in many private and corporate collections. She is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her in Maine, both in the woods and by the ocean. She uses oil on canvas and graphite on paper to render found natural objects with great detail and precision.
