Wyeth made occasional painting sojourns to Rockland between 1939 and 1989 and while Rockland is not a major theme of Wyeth’s work these paintings document Rockland’s architecture and industrial past. Many of the sites he painted are now recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of these paintings are exhibited for the first time.
