The Farnsworth Art Museum is located in Rockland, Maine, on Maine’s midcoast and is four hours northeast of Boston, less than two hours north of Portland, one and a half hours south of Bangor, and six hours southeast of Montreal.

To Fly:
Direct-scheduled commuter service is available daily from Boston and Bar Harbor to Knox County Regional Airport in Owls Head, only 4 miles away. The museum is within an easy drive of Portland, ME, Bangor, ME, Manchester, NH, and Boston airports.
Driving from the South
Take I-95 N to Brunswick and take coastal U.S. Route 1 North for approximately 52 miles. As you approach downtown Rockland, take a left onto Main Street. Travel .1 mile and take a left onto Museum Street. Our parking lot is on the right. Overflow parking is located on campus behind the Wyeth Center.
Driving from the North
Take I-95 to exit 109 at Augusta. Travel east on Western Avenue roughly 2 miles. Enter the roundabout and take the second exit on the right to Maine Route 17. At a second roundabout, continue on Route 17 by taking the first right. Travel approximately .5 miles to a traffic light; take a left onto Eastern Avenue/Route 17. Travel on Route 17 for 40 miles. In Rockland, turn right onto North Maine Street and travel until it merges with U.S. Route 1 South. Continue on Route 1 South (Union Street). You will pass Museum Street on your left (wrong way). Circle the block by taking a left on Elm Street, a left on Main Street and finally a left on Museum Street. Our parking lot is on the right. Overflow parking is located on campus behind the Wyeth Center.
Driving from Downeast and Acadia region
Take coastal U.S. Route 1 South to downtown Rockland.
Parking
We are pleased to provide free parking for museum guests. Parking is available in our museum lot behind the Wyeth Center off of Grace Street. In addition to four parking lots on our campus, two-hour on-street parking is available on Elm, Main, Museum, Masonic and Grace Streets. There are also three municipal lots within easy walking distance of the museum.

Please note: The Olson House is closed to public tours this season due to ongoing restoration work inside the house. These projects are supported in part by the generosity of private donors and a Save America’s Treasures grant from the Historic Preservation Fund administered by the National Park Service, Department of Interior.
The house and grounds are closed to visitors and there is no parking available at the site
Traveling North on U.S. Route One:
In Thomaston, Maine turn right at the Maine State Prison Showroom onto Wadsworth Street. Drive over a green metal bridge. Wadsworth Street becomes River Road. Continue approx. 6 miles on River Road and then bear left after passing Fales Store in Cushing. The road becomes Pleasant Point Road. Travel 1.5 miles on Pleasant Point Road. Take a left onto Hathorne Point Road. The Olson House is approx. 2 miles down Hathorne Point Rd.
Traveling South on U.S. Route One:
