The Farnsworth offers programs throughout the year that will deepen your understanding of topics through lectures, and a variety of art forms, such as poetry, film, music and live theatre.

LECTURES

You are invited into deeper engagement with arts and exhibition-related topics with scholars, museum curators, and artists. From informal gallery talks, to artists’ panels, and art history lectures—we hope you’ll join us and ask questions and participate in a dialogue with people who are eager to share their ideas and perspectives about the museum’s shows.

FILM

Film is a unique medium for visual storytelling, through documentaries, animated shorts, and dramatic fiction. Whether in our auditorium, outdoors, or on the big screen at The Strand Theatre, we hope you’ll take a seat and join us to learn about artists, art history, and cultural issues.

LIVE PERFORMANCES

We invite musicians and actors to join us for live concerts, theatrical productions and dramatic readings, which are often in partnership with organization such as Bay Chamber Concerts and Everyman Repertory Theatre.
