WEBSITE PRIVACY POLICY
The Farnsworth Art Museum (the “FAM”) does not share personal information with other institutions or businesses. FAM is committed to protecting users’ privacy when visiting our website, shopping at the FAM Online Store, or using the website to purchase a FAM membership or make a donation. FAM does not collect personal information about individuals, such as names and mailing or email addresses, unless the individual knowingly provides it. In choosing to provide this information, users agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of FAMs Privacy Policy which is outlined below.
ONLINE PURCHASES
When users order a product from the FAM Online Store, FAM needs to know users’ name, billing and shipping address, telephone number, email address, and credit card information to process the order. Users’ credit card information will be used only as needed to process the transaction. So that FAM may track the order, they will retain the order information for their records.
ONLINE MEMBERSHIPS
When users purchase a FAM membership online, FAM will ask users to provide them with the information needed to process the membership and acknowledge the contribution. This information includes users name, billing and shipping addresses, telephone number, email address, and credit card information. Users credit card information will be used only as needed to process the transaction.
ONLINE DONATIONS
When users support FAM by making a donation online, FAM will ask users to provide them with the information needed to process and acknowledge the contribution. This information includes users name, billing and mailing addresses, telephone number, email address, and credit card information. Users credit card information will be used only as needed to process the transaction.
CHILDREN THIRTEEN AND UNDER
FAM does not solicit personal information from children. Users 13 years of age and under should remember that they are required to obtain an adult’s permission before submitting any personal information to this or any other web site.
COOKIES
Cookies are small files of information that are stored on the user’s hard drive by a web browser. The cookies FAM uses do not contain any personal information. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but users can change the preferences of their respective browser so that it does not accept them. However, in order to use all the features of the FAM Online Store, it is recommended that users accept cookies.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION
FAM will not sell, trade, or rent the personal information users provide to them in purchasing a membership online, making an online donation, or purchasing from the FAM Online Store. FAM may compile and provide aggregate statistics about their visitors, customers, sales, traffic patterns, and related site information to third parties, but these statistics will not include any personally identifying information. FAM may notify users by email about events or activities that they believe may be of interest, or to alert users about sales or other promotional events at the FAM Online Store. If users do not want FAM to use an email address to contact them for these purposes, users may send an email message containing their name and email address to FAM.
SECURITY
FAM’s secure server software uses industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology. SSL encodes users’ personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, as it travels over the Internet so that all transactions are secure. DONOR PRIVACY POLICY
The Farnsworth Art Museum collects and uses identifying information from persons donating to the Museum. By Board policy, the museum does not sell, trade, rent, or share names, mailing and email addresses, or telephone numbers with any other entity. Promotional material may contain identifying donor information only by signed release. Donor information collected by the museum will be used in the following ways:
- Creation of donation receipts and acknowledgements
- Informing donors of upcoming events and other museum activities
- Internal analysis, trending and record keeping
- Future mailings and fundraising notifications
- Donor comments may be used in promotional materials with permission of the donor.
Financial Information provided by donors and general public:
Authorized museum personnel only may access personal and financial information possessed by the museum. The museum utilizes a third-party encrypted payment processing service and credit card related information is gathered only to complete the transaction. In instances where bank account numbers or other data are submitted to us, that data is held within secure files within the museum. To accommodate requests for regular and recurring gifts the museum will obtain written authorization from the donor to store their confidential payment information.
Donors may request anonymity for themselves and/or their contributions at any time.
